HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR SUPER STAR - SURYA

Hi everyone.
Today is Suryas birthday. I am glad I did send him chocolates as I do every year on his birthday. I am just disappointed again this year Surya wont be home on his birthday. I remember last year he was shooting for VA and this year he is shooting for Aadhavan. I wish Surya a very happy birthday and hopefully he will be back with his family and Enjoy his belated birthday bash

anyway here I found a very good article about our birthday boy. It deserves to be mentioned here

Even as the hearththrob of the Tamil screen, actor Suriya, celebrates his birthday without any fanfare on 23rd July, we take a look at his journey in tinselville… Lowkey affair…Suriya is busy shooting for KS Ravikumar’s Aadhavan in far off South Africa and wont be with his family in Chennai for his birthday. However his Suriya Rasigar Mandram is organizing blood donation camps across the state in keeping with the actor’s policy of doing community oriented activities. Suriya, man with a myriad facets…Suriya is one of the top five actors of the Tamil screen today and his star is on the rise after the recent success of Ayan. But the journey has not been an easy one for this shy elder son of actor Sivakumar. For a young man who had a troubled childhood ( read all about his early years in Ippadiku Suriya his autobiography in Tamil), and did not know which career path to choose post his B Com from Loyola College, he certainly has come a long way.Luck steered him towards films with his first film Nearukku Naer followed by a spate of others leading up to a stupendous performance in Nanda, which made people sit up and take notice of him.Success upon success followed and films like Kaakha Kaakha, Ghajini, Vel, Vaaranam Ayiram and now Ayan have only whetted our appetites to see more of him on screen. The secret of his success? Suriya lives the adage ‘God lies in the details’ as far as his work is concerned. He gives his hundred percent for every shot, role and performance and constantly seeks to re-invent himself with his next film. His hunger for challenging scripts assures the viewers that a Suriya film will be hundred percent entertainment with something novel each time. Integrity on both the personal and professional fronts is one factor that has endeared him to his fans, which are ever increasing in number.
He married the girl he loved with the blessings of his parents, he is a doting father, a loving brother , a caring son and a responsible citizen, contributing to society with his Agaram foundation. He doesnt believe in mere cheque book charity, a factor ingrained in him perhaps by watching his father run the Sri Sivakumar Educational and Charitable Trust for the past 30 years. His own Agaram Foundation today supports education for first generation literates in backward areas, while he actively supports the anti TB DOTS scheme, the Tanker Foundation for Kidney patients and the cause of Autistic children. He tries to make sure that his fan clubs across the state contribute to building socially aware citizens of use to the community they live in. His integrity in his personal and professional lives has made him a favourite among leading corporates in the South who prefer him as their brand ambassador. For his name connotes principles, honesty and integrity, qualities which are automatically transeferred onto the product he endorses, be it a mobile phone provider, a biscuit brand or a two wheeler giant ! Brand Suriya sells ! Looking ahead…Today Suriya has Aadhavan under production co-starring Nayanthara while Singam with Anushka is next on the cards, to be directed by Hari. Then a bi-lingual with AR Murgadoss is in the air while he forays into Hindi cinema with Ram Gopal Varmas flick on Paritala Ravi. The future is as bright as his name ! Suriya has miles to go. And with each new day, he only seems to be setting new goals for himself, only to reach the pinnacle and look for the next peak to conquer. On his birthday, Top 10 Cinema joins his fans in wishing him many many more years of success and satisfaction at work, togetherness with his family and love and respect from his fans.
Happy Birthday Suriya !

Thanks to top10cinema team for such a wonderful article about our hero.

Surya - Murugadoss strike back again

Suriya-Murugadoss spelled an awesome piece of work with ‘Ghajini’. A wonderful adaptation of Christopher Nolan’s ‘Memento’ happened to fetch best collections not just in Tamil, but in Telugu Box Office too. Of course, the Hindi version with Aamir Khan made a record breaking-history in Indian Cinema. Now, it’s gonna be the mania of ‘Ghajini’ team soon in tinsel town. Uh-huh, Murugadoss who had an idea about making a Bollywood films has shifted his plans towards Tamil now. It’s been confirmed that Murugadoss will be directing Suriya’s film that is yet to be titled. With Udayanidhi Stalin of Red Giant Movies producing, the project is likely planned to take off in March 2010. More than all, it will be a bilingual film in both Tamil and Telugu with Suriya himself donning the lead role in both the languages.

I just wish Murugadoss gives another hit movie like Gajini to our Surya

Surya Flying to South Africa again

Probably, ‘Adhavan’ team may be soon termed as ‘Best Globetrotters of this year’. Pretty well, the team has been flying across various exotic locales in foreign countries canning shots. ‘Aadhavan’ starring Suriya and Nayanthara in lead roles is produced by Udayanidhi Stalin of Red Giant Movies. Directed by K.S. Ravi Kumar, the filming had hit the floors herein Chennai, followed by Pondicherry. Much recently, the film crew fleeted for Iceland for shooting a song that was completed with the scheduled planning. Persistently, now they’ve continued their journey to South Africa for shooting songs and a stunt sequence. According to the crew sources, they’ve stated that stunt shot over therein Africa will be one of the best highlights in this film.

Surya did shoot for Ayan there and everyone knows it was a BB and I wish the same fortune for Aadhavan
Surya gonna rock again!

I’m not convinced! - Suriya

Actor Suriya confesses that he is not confident of his performance in his films. Nor is he completely relaxed while shooting for a film. Revealing this at a recent interview, the actor says “I am still nervous when I am shooting for my film, worried about how I might fare. I still don’t see my film before its release because I am tensed about it. When I see my films, I see only mistakes,” he says.At his modest best, actor Suriya says he is no great actor at all. “In fact, all that I am trying to do is become an actor with normal acting skills,” says the hero, whose swashbuckling looks and mellow voice are the rage of youngsters today. His recent hit, Ayan, might be a commercial film, but the actor says it is not a film of the usual kind.“It is important to make producers smile in this business. But then, I definitely make sure my films aren’t routine fares because the people don’t want me to be a usual actor,” Suriya has said.Validating is statement; he says “Earlier, all that I did was tried to keep my director happy. Those films do well. That’s when I understood the people expected more from me. Thankfully, I got movies like ‘Nandha’ then to shape my career,” the actor explains, adding that this had given him to courage to venture out more.

Guys this shows our Suryas humbleness and the fact that he sees only mistakes in his films shows his involvement and the fact that he is always striving to seek perfection in what he does.
Its a good attitude, coz instad of being satisified with what he does and fall in to the Cliché, Surya is pushing himself to criticism and trying to improve himself and his acting skills.
I heard Surya learned Flute after he did the movie PERIYANNA, He got Six Packs for Vaaranam Aayiram and finally YAMAKASI FIGHT in his Recent release AYAN . Throughout all the movies he does, Surya is learning as well as teaching to his fans
One should be proud to be Suryas fan and follow his footpath...

AYAN Reaching Hundred Days
